Prof. Chiara Tagliaro is an architect and researcher in Architectural Technology at the Real Estate Center (REC) of the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering (ABC) at Politecnico di Milano, is a co-founder of the Italian PropTech Network at the same university. Her research focuses on digitalisation and new work methods and their impact on people and the built environment. Her extensive international experience has enhanced the impact of her research, both theoretically and in interaction with the real estate industry. She is responsible for teaching, research, and consultancy activities, including leading the course “Building Types and Real Estate Functions” and the scientific coordination of the Italian PropTech Network. Her goal is to develop new strategies and innovative technologies to guide workers, organizations, and regions toward a more sustainable future.

Prof. Dr. Carsten K. Druhmann is Head of the Real Estate Management Competence Group and a member of the Institute Directorate at the Institute of Facility Management (IFM) at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). Together with his team, he focuses his research on sustainability and digital transformation in Real Estate. His background is civil engineering (Dipl-Ing. – University of Hannover) and economics (Dipl-Oek. – University of Hagen), and a dissertation in economics of education (University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich). With over 10 years of experience from various activities in the private sector, he combines future-orientated development work with a high degree of practical orientation. As co-founder of the Swiss Green Building Council (www.sgni.ch) and deputy managing director, he is committed to comprehensive sustainability and life cycle performance in Real Estate Management. 

Davide Schaumann

Dr. Davide Schaumann is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he directs the Intelligent Place Lab (IPL). His research lies at the intersection of Architecture, AI, and Human Behavior Science, focusing on the design and management of adaptive built environments that dynamically respond to human needs, enhancing both efficiency and well-being. Dr. Schaumann’s interdisciplinary background combines Architecture (BSc and MSc from Politecnico di Milano, Ph.D. from Technion), Computer Science (Postdoc at Rutgers University), and Business & Entrepreneurship (Postdoc at Cornell Tech). He has authored over 40 publications in top scientific journals and conferences and has been awarded a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship along with two Best Paper Awards at leading conferences.

Alice Paola Pomé

Dr. Alice Paola Pomè is a building engineer and Post-Doc researcher at the Real Estate Center (REC) of the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering (ABC) at Politecnico di Milano. She is also collaborating in the Italian PropTech Network at the same university as research specialist, coordinating fields of research and the network activities. With an interest in sustainable development combined to digitalization, Alice focuses her research on the new challenges in the construction and real estate sector for monitoring its evolutionary path and foster its innovation.

Ying Hua

Associate Professor, Human Centered Design, Cornell University. Coming from a background of architecture, building science, and environmental psychology, Dr. Ying Hua’s research is on methodology and empirical studies of post-occupancy evaluation (POE); impact of a variety of workplace concepts and strategies on behavioral and organizational outcomes; approaches to create work and learning settings (physical, virtual, and hybrid) that support evolving lifestyles, and the interaction between occupants and environments and the resulting influence on human experience and sustainability. She has extensive international collaboration with scholars and multiple stakeholders in the U.S., Japan, China, and Italy. It is her goal for her research, teaching, and consulting work to support innovations in the design, management, and re-engineering of built environments and hybrid settings to support the experience and enable values for their users and the society.

Alberto Bertello

Alberto Bertello is an Assistant Professor of Business Organisation at the University of Turin, Italy, where he teaches courses in Business Organisation and Organisational Behaviour. His research focuses on various facets of open innovation, including organizational challenges, opportunities, microfoundations, and theoretical developments. Currently, he is qualitatively exploring online and offline experimental spaces as organizational responses to complex societal challenges. He is also interested in how digital technologies are reshaping inter-organizational collaboration and the future of work.
